WEEK 46 - Ho ho hope you get some sleep this weekend
Hello and welcome to Week 46 of #HOMwork!
Is your hand lettering ready for the holiday season?
This week's #HOMwork assignment is take a classic holiday phrase, put your unique spin on it, and then create a piece of artwork from it.
For example. I chose 'All I want for Christmas is you' and swapped in the word 'food' because 1) it helps to differentiate my holiday content from the rest, 2) the word 'food' sounds similar to the original word 'you' so it's a good replacement and 3) it's true.
The goal of this challenge is to get you in the habit of always asking yourself, 'How can I letter phrases that are different than everyone else's?"
Good lettering + unique content has been my social media strategy from the start. This is why I'm always encouraging you to practice lettering things that deviate from the typical phrases you might find in the holiday card aisle or floating around on social media.
As always, post your work using the hashtag #HOMwork. In the caption, tell us how you came up with your spin on the classic phrase & why you chose it.
Don’t forget to tag me @homsweethom in your posts so I can see what spin you put on a classic holiday phrase. I'll be sharing my faves in my Stories all week!
