Join me for a two-day intensive mural painting workshop in my Detroit, MI studio on the weekend of July 27th and 28th!
This hands-on class will cover the planning, production, and painting of murals. Over the course of two days, the small group will work together to complete a 36 ft long mural. Students will leave this weekend with the knowledge, experience, and confidence to paint murals on their own.
Tuition includes:
Two days of instruction
Daily lunch, snacks, and water (accommodating of any dietary restrictions and preferences–my assistant and I are both vegetarians!)
All required materials
Access to the online version of the class that also includes information about mural pricing and marketing
No previous mural painting experience is required, but students with experience are also welcome! Please wear clothing that you don’t mind getting paint on or bring an apron.
The Agenda
Day One:
Picking paints and supplies
Artwork transferring techniques & the pros and cons of each
Filling in large areas of color
Day Two:
Planning out an efficient workflow
Detailed painting techniques: brushes, tape, and sponges for achieving different textures and effects
Finishing the mural + group photo
Until now, the only opportunities to learn mural painting from me were to assist me on a mural project or watch my online course (and then actually go out, find a wall, and paint a mural). I’m so excited to offer this unique, new experience in my studio space!

The workshop will take place in my studio located in the Midtown neighborhood of Detroit, Michigan. You'll receive the exact address upon registration. For planning purposes, you can use the nearby Midtown Dog Park as a destination.

Welcome! Most students who travel for this workshop opt to stay near the studio, and there are plenty of options in this lovely, walkable neighborhood. Once you're enrolled, I can recommend specific accommodations, restaurants, and cafes within walking distance or a short public tram ride away.

This class is best suited for adults due to the workshop’s long days, physical demands, and professional discussions, but I’d welcome anyone 16+ with an accompanying adult.

No previous mural painting experience is required to sign up, but students with experience are also welcome! The small class size allows me to give everyone personal attention and instruction so I can accommodate all skill levels. Consider me an open mural-painting book for the weekend!
