WEEK 24 - Take some noteworthy notes!
This one goes out to everyone who likes to doodle on their notes during meetings.
Hello and welcome to Week 24 of #HOMwork!
Your assignment this week has two parts:
Watch a video of someone that inspires you (lecture, interview, speech, etc.) and take notes.
Turn those notes into a beautiful & informative piece of artwork using lettering, design, and/or illustration.
If you don't already have a bunch of videos on your "watch someday" list, here are a few that I've personally loved and felt inspired by:
Don't Complain, Create by Tina Roth Eisenberg (20 min)
Fear, Authenticity and Big Magic with Marie Forleo interviewing Elizabeth Gilbert (48 min)
This powerful and funny commencement speech by Charlie Day (20 min)
Orrrr if you want to hear more from me, check out one of my recorded design lectures Stop Looking for Inspiration: Be Your Own Muse (49 minutes). And then invite me to come speak at your local creative conference or event so we can finally nerd out about letters and carbs in-person :)
As always, the second part of the challenge is to snap a photo of your drawing and post it on Instagram with the hashtag #HOMwork so we can see what everyone created.
In the caption, tell us about a few of the favorite notes you took and how they inspired you or shifted your thinking.
Make sure to complete & post your work before the next challenge goes out for a chance to be featured in my Instagram Story.
Looking forward to seeing all your noteworthy notes!
Love,
Lauren
P.S. Woah - #HOMwork officially has over 30,000 posts in it! Don't forget to browse the hashtag to find new, talented artists to follow.
I'd LOVE for you all to take 15 minutes this week to engage with other challenge participants' posts. You never know who might become a future friend or collaborator (or better yet, both!).
