WEEK 39 - Happy Hallo-tine's Day!
You Are The Wind Beneath My (Bat)wings!
Hello and welcome to Week 39 of #HOMwork!
This week, we have ANOTHER amazing guest teacher, Adam Grason! Adam is a whimsical illustrator, designer & story crafter, based out of Orlando, FL. When he's not crafting pixel wonders he's playing dinosaurs with his son Harper, cuddling their newborn Finn, or dreaming of bigger things with his wife Christina. Check out his website and follow him on Instagram if you want to infuse your feed with charming illustrations.
From Adam:
Anyone that follows me or my work knows that my work is fueled by my love for my family. I have been in love with my wife for nearly 20 years, married for almost 12 years, and our love is batshit crazy. We met as teenagers and for every Valentines Day, I can remember I have made her a card with a unique illustration and theme.
The bigger picture here is there are WAY too many voices of hate and division at the moment. So instead of complaining about those voices or getting bogged down by the hate, I want us to be voices of love. The only way we can change the world is by silencing HATE and spreading LOVE. So let’s take two themes that have no real reason to be together, like Valentines Day & Halloween, and make something beautiful out of them.
Your assignment this week:
There is never a wrong time to tell someone you love them and appreciate them, we don't need to wait for Valentine's day. So consider today a new official holiday: Hallo-tine's Day. Your assignment is to create a piece of art/lettering for someone you love or appreciate. But the twist is, it has to be Halloween themed.
Your love can be platonic, romantic, familial, or anything in-between, the point is that we're sending positive love vibes into the universe. The second part of the challenge is to snap a photo of your drawing and post it on Instagram with the hashtag #HOMwork so we can all feel the love! In the caption tag your Boo and tell us what inspired your spooky love note.
Don’t forget to tag @adamgrason and me @homsweethom so we can feel the love too! We'll be sharing our faves in Stories all week.
Go on, tell that Witch she’s your BOOOO!
Love,
Adam and Lauren
