WEEK 22 - It's play time!
Hey HOMwork friends, happy Friday!
(If this is your first time joining us, take a peek at our Challenge Archive for all previous assignments.)
We have another awesome guest teacher this week my good friendJune Digan! June is a graphic designer, illustrator, and letterer based in Manila, Philippines. Her work has appeared in publications such as Katha, Candy Magazine, The ABCs of Hand-Lettering, A Year of Positivity, Rizal in Germany, Stick ‘Em Up, and Decorative Lettering.
Today she spends most of her time working and pursuing personal art projects on the side. If she’s not in the office designing or at home doing watercolor, you’ll find her outdoors doing murals.
From June:
Have you ever found yourself stuck and lost in the middle of work? Or utterly clueless on how to even begin a new project? It happens to me almost every day and I guess it's something that we all have to face as creatives.
But here's one thing I do whenever I'm stuck - I wonder!
I tend to explore the unknown and spend some time doing things I enjoy or activities I genuinely want to try. I'm not gonna lie, it does make me feel guilty. Using up precious minutes or hours daydreaming instead of focusing on work can sometimes make me feel like I’m committing a crime. Some people might call it a waste but I like to call it, play.
For me, playfulness is just as important as creativity. In fact, it is an integral part of my process. Studies show that play-like activities put us into a psychological state where it’s ok to fail and explore. It leads us to construct knowledge and ideas naturally and effortlessly, without thinking too hard about it.
Playing is not only essential but it is a powerful tool for creativity so play with what you have. Play with what you can and can’t do. Play with possibilities. Play with reckless but purposeful abandon. Experiment, discover and surprise yourself. Bring the fun back into your creative process.
So let's play and have some fun this week, shall we?

Have you ever toyed with the idea of having your own superpower? If you were a superhero, what would your super ability be? For me, it would be the ability to freeze time and fart without any smell just so I can finish more tasks, sleep more, and pas gas as if nothing happened.
What's yours?
Your Assignment: Letter, illustrate or design the most creative superpower you wish you had. It can be classic, funny, or completely useless. Go crazy and have fun!
Here are some examples to get you started:
I don't need to sleep!
Super Speed!
I make beer disappear!
Caption Idea: Tell us why you'd like to have these superpowers and ask your audience what crazy superpowers they wish they had.
