WEEK 43
Hey there, thanks for joining us for Week 43 of HOMwork 2020!
This week, we have my friend and long-time collaborator Lauren Ronquillo as a guest teacher!
Lauren is a Brooklyn based graphic designer for ethically minded companies. She is a big believer that artists are those who define our world and guides an experience called The Musery, a 12 week creative program and social club for cultivating a deeper understanding of oneself as an artist (Enrollment open this week!)
Fun fact: Lauren has hosted 2 past HOMwork assignments regarding self doubt (check them out here and here) and has worked with me in a number of roles since 2015!
From Lauren:
What gives you life? What enchants you? What are your ingredients to feel fulfilled? What do you consider essential? What won’t leave you alone? When do you experience awe? What is the metric in which you aim to measure your success? (Money, power, peace, joy, freedom, learning, contributing?) What causes you to bliss out? What has saved you? What do you owe to yourself?
These are just a few of the questions I have been asking an intimate group of women these last few months in my creative program, The Musery, and I invite you to join us in this delectable deep reflection!
For me, community is key, I’m particularly drawn to feminine energies, creative folk, and those bettering this world. I aim to give these groups as much of my support as possible in exchange for all the life they grant me. I’m a lover of all things magical, leaning into awe as much as I can.
I have recently solidified the theory that as important as it is to chase magic in our everyday, it’s just as important to chase truth.
Truth in ourselves, our artwork, contributions, relationships, even truth from the companies in which we buy from and the people we put into office.
Truth can be incredible, or it can feel not so magical, but unlike an unidentified falsity, truth can be grasped and therefore, alchemized.
Your assignment: Think of the top three things that give you life, and design them as ingredients in apothecary jars.
Whip out your apothecary jars and mix up a three part recipe of the top things that give you life! You can totally get a little witchy with it, it is Halloween, after all.
Don’t forget to use the hashtag #HOMwork2020 & tag @laurenronquillo and @homsweethom when you post your work, too! We’ll be sharing our favorites in our Stories all week!
